Week 26 in review: iOS 14 and Realme X3 official, OnePlus Nord/Z teasing begins
This week Apple kicked off its online-only WWDC by detailing the new iOS 14, iPadOS, tvOS, WatchOS and macOS Big Sur.
Apple’s iPhone will get home screen widgets, an app drawer of sorts, called App Library, picture-in-picture and new smaller versions of apps, called App Clips, and much more this fall.
Apple also promised to show its first ARM-based Macs by the end of the year, though it said it isn’t going to stop working with Intel.
We also saw dummies of Apple’s rumored iPhone 12 trio. The new design is flat and squarish, reminiscent of the iPhone 5 and 5s of old. The rear has a flat design with the a triple camera setup identical to current iPhones.
The Realme X3 became official. It brings a Snapdragon 855+, dual-selfie camera, 64MP main camera and a 120Hz IPS LCD, but lacks the X3 SuperZoom’s periscope telephoto camera. The Realme X3 will be available in blue and white colors and starts at INR 24,999 (330$). It will go on sale on June 30 with pre-orders on June 25.
OnePlus released the first teasers for its upcoming smartphone codenamed OnePlus Nord. It will arrive in July to India and Europe with a dual selfie camera and a more affordable price tag than OnePlus’ current phones.
Also touted for a July arrival is the Asus ROG Phone 3 and Motorola Edge Lite, while the vivo X50 Pro is going global next month as well.

Huawei is working hard on replacing the functionality that was in the Google services (that it no longer has access to).

Features a brand new UI and significant updates to Safari, Messages and Maps.

The actual name of the device is still not determined.

The account is called @OnePlusLiteZThing – Carl Pei and co. are having a bit of fun with people trying to guess the name of the new model.

The chip is expected to be officially announced around the end of this year, the first phones with it will come early next year.

This move was rumored a lot, and a long time coming.
